Knowledge assessment and interview preparation
Provider approval is a legal status under the National Law that authorises a person or entity to operate one or more education and care services. As an applicant, you must demonstrate understanding of your legal obligations — not just business ownership.
Key points:
- Provider approval is separate from service approval and CCS approval
- The approved provider bears ultimate legal responsibility for compliance
- NSW may require a knowledge assessment and/or interview
- The Guide to the NQF must be read alongside the National Law and Regulations, with NSW-specific provisions checked separately
Exam tip: Be ready to explain what you would do as the accountable decision-maker, not what your staff would do.
